Just got back from another early(ish) morning session in the estuary. Arrived 8am before high tide with just enough beach to launch the 9m kite. Good session for a couple of hours. Few scary fast broad reaches on the flat water. Wind died away mid morning and became gusty and as the tide started dropping the car park started filling up with cars and vans kites and windsurfers (and an ambulance. Get well soon Steve - I hope the van came off worse. It looked bad... but didn't see what happened I was on the water at the time. ). Now enjoying a well deserved brunch having rinsed kit.
footnote: 1.30pm. Its now blowing again... Heard a big thud this morning and caught a glimpse of a submerged log, thought it would be a fin gone but looked OK on the beach. Just found 2inch wide dent in board. Oh the perils of the estuary !
